About us
Our journey
Field Valley Canine, LLC officially opened in 2023. Our limited services offered included (in-home) On-Leash & Off-Leash Basic Obedience. After meeting amazing families and building a small base reputation, we realized not very many service dog trainers were available to the area. With staff experienced in Service Dog work, a program was designed & launched in 2024 for training service dogs. Our goals for 2026 include…
New service dog prospects and a scent detection expansion. We are in the process of building a scent detection program that specializes in bed bug detection and drug detection using Labrador Retrievers.
Meet the Pack:
When training with us, you may see or even work with some of these dogs during evaluations and training exercises! We appreciate the work these dogs do as they are a huge part of our team!

Meet the owner
My name is Madison Effinger, and I am the Owner and Lead Trainer at Field Valley Canine, LLC. My journey into dog training began at the Humane Animal Welfare Society in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where I gained hands-on experience in daily care, vaccination administration, medical support, and foundational canine behavior.
During my time in the shelter environment, I saw firsthand how limited resources and high-stress settings can impact dogs—especially those struggling with behavioral challenges. While severe aggression was not common, many dogs were unable to receive the training they needed, sometimes leading to bite cases or euthanasia. These experiences shaped my desire to do more for dogs beyond the shelter setting and to support owners in preventing these outcomes.
In 2022, I earned my Master Dog Trainer Certification from the School for Dog Trainers in North Carolina. My education included studying a wide range of training methodologies while actively working with pet dogs, service dogs, and police K-9s. This hands-on, well-rounded approach allowed me to develop a deep understanding of effective, ethical training across different working environments.
Seeking to further challenge myself and expand my impact, I founded Field Valley Canine, LLC in 2023. Today, I am passionate about collaboration, continuing education, and giving back through donating time to service dog projects, all while helping dogs and their handlers build confident, successful partnerships.
